Georgina Melbye Wins Aspen Jury Trial

We are pleased to announce that RKV Law associate attorney, Georgina Melbye, won a jury trial in Aspen on Friday. The trial lasted two days and involved a charge of Driving Under the Influence. The elected District Attorney for the 9th Judicial District, Jeff Cheney, was the lead prosecutor on the case. Georgina cross-examined multiple Aspen Police Department officers and another witness during the trial. She highlighted numerous shortcomings in the investigation and presentation of evidence. Georgina arranged for a supporting witness to travel all the way from Utah to testify at the trial in Aspen.

The Pitkin County jury deliberated approximately 3 hours before returning a not-guilty verdict that completely vindicated RKV Law’s client. The trial was Georgina’s second in the month of April.
