A bill that would make repeated convictions for Colorado DUIs has cleared its first hurdle with the Colorado legislature. As it stands, any DUI conviction that does not involve a fatality or serious injury remains a misdemeanor. The proposed bill would elevate a 3rd DUI conviction within 7 years, or a 4th and subsequent convictions, to a Class 4 felony. More information can be found here.
The bill would result in significant consequences for Aspen DUIs and those accused of drunk driving in Vail. We’ll keep you posted on the final status of this bill.
