Ryan’s client was wrongfully sued in Pitkin County by a trust controlled by the children of her ex-husband. In essence, it was an Aspen post-decree divorce dispute. The lawsuit alleged that Ryan’s client stole a number of highly valued pieces of modern art in her divorce. The trust was represented by a large, national law firm in Denver.
After extensive research, Ryan proved that the trust’s claims were baseless. Instead of simply letting the children and their elite law firm walk away, Ryan negotiated reimbursement of his client’s fees by the trust as part of the settlement.
Civil Theft, Replevin and Breach of Contract
Case dismissed. The other side paid Ryan’s fees.
