Jessica Burt Paralegal




Jessica Burt joined Kalamaya | Goscha in November 2021 to assist the Family Law team as a Paralegal. Jessica graduated with a BA in Social Science/History from University of North Dakota before obtaining her paralegal certificate from Arapahoe Community College in December 2013.

She worked as homicide paralegal for the 18th Judicial District Attorney’s Office and then started her own freelance paralegal firm in September of 2016 working for attorneys in litigation, family law, employment law, estate planning, tax law, and immigration law.  Jessica worked as the only paralegal on the Colorado case against big tobacco for a year and a half, which ended in an excellent settlement for Colorado.

She also taught in Arapahoe Community College’s paralegal program for two years teaching 1st semester students “Intro to Law”. She has also recently been appointed library trustee of the Douglas County Libraries by the Douglas County Commissioners, sharing the responsibility of making important decisions managing millions of dollars for 7 libraries within the county as well as learning all aspects of the government entity.

Aside from work, Jessica can be found spending time with her husband, who is a firefighter(structure and wildland), and their blended family of seven children, ranging in ages 22-6.  She also enjoys traveling, gardening,  engaging in winter and summer sports, and practicing yoga everyday.
