Ryan’s client was arrested for drunk driving in Basalt with a BAC of over .270. The police officer claimed that our client didn’t signal for a turn at a stop sign. The video from the officer’s vehicle left some room for debate. Ryan successfully persuaded the Eagle County judge to toss out any evidence of the BAC or incriminating statements after a hearing that featured lengthy cross-examination of the police officer. The case was ultimately dismissed by Eagle County DA because there was insufficient evidence to prosecute for DUI. It was the first loss for the Basalt police officer in 12 years.
